Dental Assistant/ Front Desk position available in a small general and family dentist office in Essex, CT. Hours: M, T, Th, F 7:30AM - 5:30PM (2 days a week or partial days 4 days a week initially, job will become full time) · Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures · Set up and breakdown operatory pre and post treatment · Take dental radiographs (x-rays) · Take impressions of teeth for study models - · Perform laboratory functions such as pouring and trimming models, construct custom trays and fabricate temporary crowns and bridges · Manage infection control - prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment · Provide patients with instructions for oral care following all dental treatment procedures · Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health · Perform various office tasks such as answering the phone, scheduling patients, calling patients with overdue accounts and posting payments. Minimum Education and Experience: · Dental Assistant Certificate where state regulations specify · High School Diploma or equivalent The position entails direct patient care, charting, sterilization, and general front desk responsibilities.
