Description
Primary Function The Office Manager's ("OM") primary responsibility is to provide operations management, leadership, and expertise to establish, sustain, and support a successful dental practice. The OM serves the needs of the associate dentist, operating owner, and patients by ensuring the practice team executes in an ethical, responsible, and efficient manner, while adhering to all company and regulatory policy, compliance protocols, systems, and requirements. Essential Responsibilities • Personnel management, including interviewing, hiring and training new staff at all levels on office policies and procedures and HIPAA and OSHA standards as well as implement disciplinary actions when necessary • Complete insurance verification, determination of benefits and pre- authorizations for dental procedures • Knowledgeable in private insurance, self-funded plans and state and federal plans such as Medicaid and Medicare • Review benefits and treatment plans with patients. Resolve billing issues when needed • Complete end-of-day reports, end-of-month reports, aging reports, employee payroll and doctor payroll • Mail out patient statements • Answer back to insurance and Medicaid about claims • Help maintain friendly and professional staff-patient relationships and resolve issues as they arise • Electronic Dental Records (Dentrix) • Management of front and back office staff • Assist with other duties as requested or needed Required Knowledge and Skills • Minimum one year of previous management experience in the dental field • Knowledge of dental insurance billing practices ,resubmitting claims • Must be available to work some Saturdays • Great written and verbal communication skills • Ability to adjust and adapt in a busy dental practice environment
