We're looking for a CROSS TRAINED, fun, dependable, easygoing person, that wants to have fun while working to join our team. ORTHO Assistant and Front Office Coordinator oversees the administrative and clinical orthodontic duties of the facility. They are responsible for moving the patients through the intake and checkout process. Front Office Coordinators must ensure that all procedures, from charting insurance information, to the correct scheduling procedures are closely followed so that the Dental team can concentrate on the well being of the patients. The Front Office Coordinators must interact smoothly with back office personnel as well. Cross-trained in clinical and chair side dental assisting a plus but not required. Specific Front Office Coordinator Job Duties: Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and friendly manner. Screen calls, arranges appointments and referrals. Prepares new records, files, and maintains records. Type correspondence, reports, memos, and forms as requested by dentists and/or administration. Prepare bank deposits, Take clear and concise phone messages. Schedule and confirm appointments daily, Collect co- pays,deductibles and inquire on previous balances, prepare financial agreements, Prepare schedule for the next day, Maintain at the front desk, Create new patient letters, Maintain inventory and submit front office supply order, Keep front area neat and tidy at all times, Copy medical information as requested following proper procedures, Distribute mail and handle routine correspondence, Distribute incoming reports and correspondence and files, in patient charts or presents to professional staff, Cross-train any additional or new staff. Also cross-trained in taking x-rays, impressions, and four-handed dentistry a plus but not required. Orthodontics IS required. Applicant must be professional and able to multi task. The applicant hired will have the opportunity to work with our highly skilled team and utilize state of the art technology for children and adults. At least three years of orthodontic experience is required. Certification preferred. Must be passionate about orthodontics, gentle and friendly toward the patients, honest and trust worthy. Excellent spoken and written communication skills. Can-do attitude and a great work ethic with excellent customer service skills. Duties include: Assisting the Orthodontist during a variety of treatment procedures, including bonding and adjustments • Accuracy of taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays). • Taking impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth). • Accuracy of updating patient's medical history at each visit. • Accuracy of posting patient services and completion of clinical notes. • Helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after orthodontist treatment. • Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling. • Communicating with patients and suppliers, when necessary; scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing and ordering supplies. • Serving as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment. • Assist with inventory supply needs. Required experience: • Orthodontic Assistant AND FRONT OFFICE STRONG: 3 years minimum • Must have Ortho and x-ray certifications and be CPR Certified
