Job Type: Full-time Job Summary The Patient Coordinator/Dental Assistant is responsible for maintaining appearance and order of dental office, patient scheduling and patient management. Responsible for new patients' smooth transition into the practice, existing patients' ongoing dental care, communication with patients during treatment and communication with specialty offices. Responsible for managing office financial transactions using practice management software. Researches patient dental benefits plans to determine which services are covered and which are not, as well as obtains pre-authorization of proposed treatment plans. Works with patients to develop payment plans and schedules that meet the patients' needs. Follows up on past due payments. Submits claims to insurance companies/third-party payers for timely reimbursement. Acts as office dental coding expert by staying to date on CDT changes, as well as assisting dentists and staff with coding questions as needed. Responsible for assisting the dentist in the clinical treatment of patients when needed. Qualifications and Skills High school diploma or equivalent Graduated of accredited dental assisting program or at least 3 years dental assisting experience in general dentistry field Coursework in dental instruments and procedures Compliance with state dental practice requirements (e.g. x-ray requirements, OSHA training) Commitment to CE for career development Working knowledge of computers for word processing, scheduling, insurance claims processing and record management Letter composition skills Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Computer skills for Eaglesoft Practice Management, Dexis System, Windows Office xxxx software, tools & applications (Office, Excel, OneNote, Outlook), Understand how to use a scanner, printer & credit card terminal and Revenue Well (plus not required) For a full list of Qualifications and Skills, please visit our website at https://www.oralhealthcareprofessionals.com/employment.html .
