Orthodontic Registered Dental Assistant Our Dental Practice is looking for a Part-time Registered Dental Assistant with Orthodontic dental experience to work 2 days a week at our new state-of-the-art facility and join our professional team. We are a growing Pediatric, Family and Orthodontic dental practice located in Houston, TX. The Orthodontic Registered Dental Assistant assists the dentist orthodontist chair side during treatment procedures, performing all assisting duties permitted by law. The Ortho dental assistant is the liaison between the dentist orthodontist and the patient, and maintains communication among them and the front office staff to ensure that every patient receives the best dental care and customer satisfaction. The part time job position requires an active, motivated, talented, friendly, and team-oriented individual, who has excellent professional and personal skills. Key responsibilities: Greets patients, and prepare them at the operatory for orthodontic treatment. Sets up and break down operatory Sterilizes instrument and equipment and prepares instrument trays for procedure Chair side assists the dentist orthodontist Must anticipate his/her needs and be prepared for next steps Maintain proper patient treatment records Ability to take blood pressure Take impressions for study models or temporary oral devices, and X rays. Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies and post-treatments care to maintain oral health. Stocks equipment, organize instruments, and stocks operatory Follow OSHA, HIPAA and company safety policies and procedures. Ability to build a good rapport with staff and patients. Requirements: Current Texas RDA License High school or GED equivalent Preferred 1 - 2 years experience of Ortho Chair side assistance Current X-Ray License and CPR certification Bilingual (English-Spanish) is preferred Knowledge of OSHA and safety compliance Basic computer skills and Knowledge of EagleSoft software.
