Closing Date: 2/20/xxxx Salary Range: $21.72- $30.44 hourly Job Summary This position exists to provide maximum oral hygiene to the patients of the Department of Human Services Dental Clinic. The principal clientele are those with developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injuries and severe and persistent mental illness. Job Responsibilities Include: • Perform all services permitted by the state Board of Dentistry pursuant to the provisions of Section xxx-A, subdivision 5 of the Minnesota Dental Practices Act of xxxx so that maximum oral hygiene may be maintained to the patients of State Operated Services Dental Clinics. • Design and implement a preventive dentistry program, in consultation with the dentist, so that optimal levels of all clients' oral hygiene can be maintained. • Hygienist will insure that infection control policies and procedures will be followed to maintain a safe environment for staff and patients. • Assist with clinic duties so that patient services and clinic communications and operations run effectively and efficiently. • Work cooperatively with all dental staff, Consultants, Contractors, supporting staff, and patients in order to effectively address the health needs of patients we serve. Minimum Qualifications: Licensed as a Registered Dental Hygienist with the Board of Dentistry Preferred Qualifications: Ability to effectively communicate with the team and also with people with intellectual disabilities and their staff. Have compassion for people with disabilities. Positive attitude with great work ethic. Willingness to work independently.
