Must have; • Positive and customer focused attitude • Professional demeanor and appearance • Strong work ethic • Self-motivated • Highly organized • Honest, reliable, consistent • Team oriented • Ability to deal with children and parents in a sensitive manner • Ability to work with interruptions and manage multiple priorities (multi-task) • Ability to complete tasks on time and with quality • Attention to detail • Excellent written and verbal communication skills Job Responsibilities; • Warmly greet and care for children and their families during their appointment • Prepare and properly set up treatment rooms for hygiene procedures • Review and update patient's health history; chart progress, treatments, and home care compliance • Clean hard and soft deposits from teeth, and beneath margins of gums using dental instruments, and capture digital x-rays • Apply fluoride and other cavity preventing agents to arrest dental decay • Recognize early signs of oral disease; chart restorations and note areas of concern • Educate and positively motivate patient on proper oral hygiene, and corrective/preventative measures • Work chair side with Dentist as needed, assist doctor in hygiene examination * Must be detail oriented and maintain patient comfort • Must be flexible and forward thinking to anticipate the needs of the patient • Ability to calm and reassure patients facing uncomfortable or painful procedures • Schedule appropriate re-care and operative appointments • Assist in sterilization duties • Use downtime constructively; perform light housekeeping around office, restocking, inventory of supplies • Always maintain the highest level of confidentiality to HIPAA standards • Adherence to best OSHA standards for a safe and clean working environment • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops Education • Associate's Degree from ADA accredited dental hygienist school • Current State Licensure • CPR Certified This position is for Tuesday 7:30 - 5:00, Thursday 7:30 - 4:00 & Friday 7:30 - 2:00, and one Saturday every other month from 7:30 - 1:00.
