Front Desk Patient Treatment Coordinator/Receptionist position is available at small, upbeat one-dentist private practice in the Chastain Park neighborhood of Buckhead (Atlanta, xxxx2)that is located within a modern, well-equipped 2-story dental center sharing space with several other dentists and their teams. Those with 2-5 years front office experience seem to match our practice best. Enough years to be self-sufficient, yet not so many years that unteachable-inflexibility arises. For the right candidate we would be willing to train someone with previous non-dental front-desk/reception experience. Read carefully to the end on how to apply, before hitting the button, please. Normally interviews will be held near end-of-workday M-T-W-Th or later if more convenient for applicant, and during the day on Fridays. We've learned that the right team member for us is typically one who is careful about the right practice for her/him, so we offer a low-pressure trial run of temp working days. It usually answers a lot of questions for both of us. About Us: Small, upbeat one-dentist private practice in the Chastain Park neighborhood of Buckhead. Dentist is MCG grad, class of '03, with additional hospital residency (GPR). MCG has changed names about 12 times in the last several years, so you may know it as Georgia Health Sciences Univ or Georgia Regents Univ or Augusta University. Our practice surgically places and restores dental implants, uses up-to-date restorations such as all-ceramic-crowns and well-designed eMax onlays in addition to the occasional conventional pfm crown, and is a stickler for closed margins, well-sealed-composites, and restorations that really look and feel like teeth. Practice is PPO/self-insured mix with no Medicaid, no capitation, nor HMO. We have team-members who travel in from Stockbridge, Newnan, Warner Robins, and not to long ago from Social Circle and even North Carolina. Scheduling and billing is on computer practice management software called Easy Dental, very similar to Dentrix because both have same software manufacturer. Dentist was once employed with Walt Disney World, Vail & Associates, and Park City Mountain Resort in his previous life before dental school(laughing, but true)and this influences the practice's daily goal to provide a positive, warm, engaging patient experience. We have been known to win the internet for the day with some clever selfies taken with patients who enjoy their hygiene/checkup experience here. "The ole battle-axe at the front desk" scenario just won't cut it around here, sorry. We hunt diligently for the hidden areas of calculus and plaque, and we are not overzealous with SRP when not indicated. We don't drill on every brown stain we find, and we don't sell "stuff" like magic mouthwashes and whitening pens, and there are no quotas or goal numbers you're asked to meet, sorry. We say "Yes m'am" and "No sir" to patients just like Mama taught us, and call patients Mr. LastName, Mrs. LastName until a comfort level is established where the patient indicates first name is just fine. The voice of the person answering the phone at the front desk is the first impression our practice gives to a prospective patient, and at check-out is the parting impression given upon leaving. Prospective patients rarely are confidently excited about pursuing dental care (duh!)so there is little room to be anything that's not positive, encouraging, and inviting on the phone. If that resonates with you, then we should talk. We know that the patient appearing in our chair is the REASON for our business day, rather than an inconvenient interruption in our business day. In short, we create an environment that instills patient-desire to be here rather than elsewhere. If this paragraph (above)doesn't ring a bell with you, then this is probably not a match, as we really are not just a place to punch a time clock. About You: The ideal candidate has some experience with dental insurance and practice, 2-5 years ideally, but that's not set in stone. That part is teachable. Courtesy, warmth, hospitality, and a can-do attitude are the very important although more rare character traits we specifically seek. I have seen that Dental team-members with prior work experience in retail or restaurant- server settings often provide an excellent mix of clinical-care and welcoming hospitality towards patients. The ideal candidate would vote for a drama-free work environment where dentistry is recommended and performed with integrity, versus a glitzy-glam office where meeting patients' needs is not always at the top of the priority list. Hours are M-T 7:45-5ish, W-Thur 7:45-3ish. Fridays are unscheduled as of now ("closed") but could become key days in a location change in same neighborhood.
