Established dental practice seeking a responsible, organized and self-motivated dental assistant to join our practice full time, Mon - Thurs. If this sounds a like a good fit, we would love to hear from you. The Dental Assistant supports the clinical treatment care of patients. Other functions include sustaining patient comfort, managing supplies, listening to patients’ needs and educating them on dental procedures, working efficiently to maintain doctor’s schedule and adhering to all OSHA and safety policies and procedures. The Dental Assistant will also organize and maintain lab equipment, take and develop x-rays and provide comprehensive post-op dental procedures to patients. The ideal Dental Assistant candidate should possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, a superior knowledge of dentistry and dental terminology, a friendly, outgoing demeanor and excellent organizational skills. Requirements: • As a Dental Assistant at Wilson Family Dentistry, you must have a positive and outgoing personality, exceptional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills, excellent patient care skills and strong organizational skills. Additional requirements for the Dental Assistant include: • Expanded functions(place fillings, set crowns, take impressions, etc.) • Superior working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology • Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures • Ability to build rapport with patients • Manage infection control - prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment • Good manual dexterity • Set up and breakdown operatory post treatment • Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures • Set up and breakdown operatory post treatment • Computer proficiency and the ability to learn new programs • X-ray certification required in the state of TN • Previous work experience in a dental practice is a plus • High School Diploma or GED required • Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting
