The Orthodontic Assistant is responsible for providing patient care and assistance
to the Doctor with patient procedures. The Orthodontic Assistant must perform and
help the Doctor with direct patient care including cassettes, hand pieces,
materials, instruments, etc.:
Educate patients on oral healthcare of braces and their appliances.
Assist Doctor with orthodontic treatment in accordance with state regulations.
take diagnostic x-rays and photos and display those according to the type of
procedure or appointment scheduled.
accurately chart and document all notes pertaining to the patient during the exam
and treatment set forth by the Company guidelines.
review the patient’s chart, medical history and treatment plan and consent forms
prior to treatment, and identify any potential concerns for you and the Doctor to

Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment.
Communicate with parents/patients at the end of each visit to address concerns and
answer treatment questions.
Maintain patient confidentiality through HIPAA compliance. Ensure any release of

Attend and participate in all office meetings, continuing education events and

contaminated or bio-hazardous waste/materials.

efficiently as possible.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•Minimum high school diploma, or equivalent.
•Experience working in a professional, medical, or dental environment with direct
customer service is desired.
•Minimum of 1 year of orthodontic assisting experience.
•Radiology certification and Certified Orthodontic Assisting credentials may be
