We are looking for a qualified, professional and motivated Hygiene Assistant who is ready to be a part of a team and grow personally and professionally within our dental practice. We need a team oriented individual who is outgoing with impressive communication skills, organized, professional, service minded and willing to go above and beyond the basic responsibilities of the job. As a Hygiene Assistant, you will have the opportunity of working side by side with the hygienists as well as the doctor. Position is Monday-Thursday,7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Responsibilities: • Prepare hygiene rooms, patients, instruments, and materials for each appointment • Schedule hygiene appointments • Assist the hygienists with periodontal charting during clinical exams • Take digital x-rays • Document notes regarding dental care services by charting in patient records • Comply with operational procedures, OSHA laws, infection control policies, and safety guidelines • Maintain HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality • Provide dental education to patients and parents to promote awareness of oral health and continuing treatment • Attend and participate in morning huddles, office meetings, and trainings • Comply with the company's uniform and basic personal hygiene standards • Perform In Office Whitening Procedures • Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment areas for both the hygienists and doctor • All other duties as assigned Job Requirements: • Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) licensure preferred, according to state guidelines and limitations • Radiography licensure • Minimum of an externship working in a dental setting, dental knowledge is a must • Experience taking digital x-rays • Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high patient volume environment • Must be proficient with discussing oral hygiene care to patients and parents • Experience using CS SoftDent preferred
