The Sterilization & Records Technician is responsible for providing support to the
office and assisting new patients. This role has transitional responsibilities
including records, sterilization, and fabricating stints and models as needed.
General responsibilities include:
1. New Patients:
Assist new patients through their entire records appointment by answering all
questions and concerns.
Take precise and accurate records consisting of: Panoramic and Cephalometric X-
rays, digital photos, study models and Centric wax bites
Welcome the patient with office staff and Doctor introductions.
Accurately chart and document all notes pertaining to the patient during the exam
and treatment set forth by the Company guidelines.
Review the patient’s chart and medical history and identify any potential concerns
for you and the Doctor to consider.
2. Sterilization and Clinic:
Ensure proper cleaning and sterilization of all operatory equipment, instruments,
chairs, and work stations based on OSHA regulations and the Company standards.
Maintain compliance with state and federal OSHA laws, infection control, safety
standards in the dental office and operatory. ?
Monitor clinic and prepare trays ahead if possible.
Clean chair side trays and prepare for basic set up of instruments.
Assist orthodontic assistants and Doctor as requested.
Help maintain overall cleanliness of the office.
3. Laboratory and Administrative:
Pour up impressions as they are completed.
Clean and disinfect impression trays.
Trim study models and fabricate stints as requested.
Help maintain a clean work area.
Maintain patient confidentiality through HIPAA compliance. Ensure any release of
patient information is done according to the Company guidelines.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum high school diploma, or equivalent.
Bilingual preferred, but not required.
Customer service experience working in a professional, medical, or dental
Radiology certification and Certified Orthodontic Assisting credentials*
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Must be customer service oriented and able to communicate with a pleasant demeanor
at all times.
Effective written and verbal communication is a must with all staff and management.
Must possess excellent organizational skills (strong attention to detail, be able
to multitask and perform job duties in a timely manner).
General knowledge and understanding of dental treatment and care.
