The Financial Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to help patients understand and determine how they can best afford diagnosed treatment. The Financial Coordinator is responsible for presenting a clear and accurate overview of the total cost, benefits, and estimated out of pocket expenses, as well as prompt, consistent follow up regarding questions, concerns, and scheduling. The Financial Coordinator directly contributes to both the financial success of the practice and an excellent patient care by increasing patient acceptance and treatment follow through. Key Responsibilities: ? Educate patients on financial options, including 3rd party financing, and prepare financial arrangements ? Schedule appointments and maintain communication through confirmations and patient care calls ? Monitor and track each patient’s progress to ensure continuation of diagnosed treatment ? Be knowledgeable in various insurance plans, manuals, exclusions and limitations ? Verify patient’s insurance coverage for accurate financial presentation ? Ensure that all predetermination, benefit coordination, and relevant insurance information is submitted and patients are informed on the status and their financial responsibilities. ? Have the ability to complete all tasks and duties assigned to front office personnel including: -Ability to create an excellent first impression both by phone and in person -Ensure phones are answered promptly -Communication regarding changes in schedule or patient questions or concerns -Completion of insurance breakdowns when necessary -Collect patient out of pocket and past due balances according to company policy -Maintain cleanliness and organization of consult room, front desk, and reception area -Identify and communicate where financial presentations will be needed for both new and existing patients in Daily Huddle -Participate as a contributing member of the office staff team to achieve patient satisfaction and office production goals. -Partner with front and back office team members to support patient flow -Resolve patient questions and concerns or escalate to the Office Manager in a timely manner -Ask feedback on the patient experience in the form of participation in reviews, survey response, and referrals -Send appropriate follow up Thank You letters or cards to new patients -Adhere to HIPAA compliance regulations and OSHA safety standard -Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: ? Associates or Bachelor’s Degree ? Previous sales experience in a customer service focused industry ? Minimum 2-year dental front office experience ? Knowledge of dental terminology, insurance plans and billing processes Job Type: Full-time
