Front Desk Manager Job Description
Our busy and growing dental practice is in search of a team player to serve in
our front office as Front Desk Manager, overseeing all operations of the front
desk. We require a self motivated, self confident, multi-tasker that understands
clearly who the focus of our business is. The Front Desk Manager will report
directly to the Practice Administrator.
The right person will have a minimum of 3 years in the dental field, be an
excellent communicator, friendly, patient and have experience with dental
specific practice management software. This person must also have an extensive
knowledge of dental insurance. Candidate must have a growth mindset as the
practice continues to grow.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
-Lead, manage, oversee, and schedule the front desk team, which includes all
patient care coordinators.
-Responsible for creating a positive culture and welcoming atmosphere for all
patients and front office team.
-Responsible for training new staff members by training to the processes that
are currently in place.
-Responsible for overseeing the daily schedule ensuring appointments are
scheduled correctly according the the practice and individual doctor
-Oversee the answering of phones, making appointments, and gathering accurate
demographic and insurance data.
-Ensure insurance eligibility is verified prior to patient appointments.
-Understand and be comfortable with presenting treatment plans clearly and
-Be an advocate for the patients, parents, and referring dentists/doctors, and
willing to step into any role for the benefit of the patient and the overall
success of the practice.
-Work alongside the Clinical Lead/doctors to ensure the front office and clinic
are working together to maximize efficiency for the office as a whole.
-As the office expands, work on duties related to having multiple locations
(scheduling staff, ordering supplies, developing new processes, etc.)
-Oversee and assist the Surgery Scheduler with the scheduling of all surgeries
scheduled at the local hospitals
-Assist the Practice Administrator with additional duties as necessary.
