Required: • Current licensure as a DDS or DMD to practice in the State of Texas by the State Board of Dental Examiners and ability to maintain appropriate clinical privileges • Prefer 5+ years of hands-on dentistry experience, as well as up to date knowledge of dental clinic rules, regulations and equipment. • Dental management experience, including experience in planning, training and developing and maintaining clinical standards • A management style that fosters growth and encourages communication in a team environment • Detail oriented with effective organizational skills • Current DEA, DPS certification • Current CPR (BLS) certifications, ACLS preferred • Bilingual Spanish preferred, but not required • Ability for spur of the moment transportation without relying on organization vehicles • Must possess or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Texas for the type of vehicle or equipment operated • Department of Motor Vehicle check may be required, if applicable • Customer Service Oriented • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Excellent Computer Skills MS Office • Must be willing and able to work evening and weekend hours if necessary • Must be in compliance with GCHD Immunizations policy • Must be in compliance with ICS training requirements • Must pass criminal background check and drug/alcohol screening An equivalent combination of education and work experience which appropriately demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above described essential functions will be considered when hiring for this role. Traditional Duties: • Develop, maintain and implement formal clinic policies and procedures; guide dental staff to deliver consistent standards of care according to established policies and procedures in order to assure dental clinical practices meet the highest quality standards • Participate in board and management meetings and annual planning processes to evaluate strategic plan objectives • Evaluate dental staff under supervision to insure performance goals related to quality and regulatory standards are met • Work with the clinic executive director to ensure effective operation of the dental clinic, including staffing, scheduling, and budgetary compliance • Direct dental team staff meetings and trainings. • Works within the community to promote oral hygiene through various outreach activities • Direct dental quality assurance and infectious disease programs such as monthly peer review, infection control and both Joint Commission & OSHA regulations • Perform quality clinical and radiographic evaluations to diagnose and treat diseases of the oral cavity • Promote oral health by providing educational information on all phases of preventive and restorative dentistry and oral hygiene • Document and follow treatment plans that include appropriate preventive and restorative therapy • Manage medical/dental history with a comprehensive evaluation of the patient's general health • Maintain the baseline radiographs and any other radiographs necessary to diagnose and establish a treatment plan for the case • Understand and follow Infection Control policies, plans, procedures and guidelines related to program area requirements • Participate in both Quality Assurance Committee and the Infectious Disease Control Committee. • Responsible for ensuring staff is trained in sterilization and maintenance of dental instruments / equipment and is performed per manufacturer’s recommended schedule and Dental Department and Infection Control guidelines • Responsible for ensuring all bio-hazardous waste is disposed of properly • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor To apply please visit our website opportunities and fill out our online application.
