Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Must have at least 2 years of experience in a dental office.
Radiology and active CPR certification. Must be in compliance with any
other licensing or credentialing requirements.
Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and
Prepares patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and
Provides information to patients and employees by answering questions and
Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment
area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing
Provides diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographs; taking
impressions, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR
certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone
Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative
Documents dental care services by charting in patient records.
Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures,
Maintains equipment inventories, evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Maintains dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory
anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, and
verifying receipt of supplies.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational
workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks,
and participating in professional societies.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Skills/Qualifications: Use of Dental Technology, Dental Health Promotion and
Maintenance, Ambition to Succeed, Great Bedside Manner, Listening skills, Team
player, Thoroughness, Self-Development, Performing Diagnostic Procedures, Strict
Adherence to Policies and Regulations Relating to OSHA, CDC, and HIPPA. CAD/CAM
experience a plus!
