Patient care is our number-one priority, and we strive to provide state-of-the-
art treatment options in a warm and supportive environment. The purpose of the
assistant in our practice is to assist the dentist. This will enable them to
provide the most efficient, high-quality dentistry to our patients. Assistants
must be able to anticipate the doctor's needs to keep procedures running
smoothly. They must also be intimately familiar with all procedures performed in
the office and know how to set up for these procedures so that no one needs to
leave the operatory during a procedure.
Assisting the doctor chairside with a procedure
Cleaning and setting up the operatories
Cleaning and sterilizing instruments
Seating and dismissing of patients
Taking radiographs (both digital and traditional film)
Cleaning and maintaining dental equipment
Maintaining professional relationships with our patients and other staff members
Providing quality treatment to our patients
Providing patient education materials (when appropriate)
Increasing efficiency in the office
Promote the doctors, the practice, and other staff members at all times.
Educational & Legal Requirements:
All assistants at Jansen Family Dentistry are required to provide proof of
completion of a dental assisting program accredited by the American Dental
Association's Commission of Dental Accreditation (CODA).
All assistants at Jansen Family Dentistry are responsible for maintaining a
current dental radiographer license through the state of Indiana.
