The primary function of the Billing and Collections Coordinator is to manage
outstanding accounts receivables and collect payments on a contract or project
basis. This process includes identifying past due invoices, collecting payment and
payment processing. This individual will work closely with other team members and
interact directly with clients. The collections contractor must possess pre-
existing knowledge of collections processes and Medicaid collections. The billing
and collections coordinator will provide updates to the Dental Operations Manager.
Experience and Skill sets:
Bachelor or Associates Degree preferred, will consider years of experience in place
Minimum three (3) years’ experience with Medicaid dental billing collections
Computer literate with ability to use common dental or billing-related software
Experience with Medicaid billing process
Incurred Medical Expense billing process expeience preferred but not required
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Superior interpersonal skills with ability to effectively interact with
dentists/clients/customers, patients, and staff members
Exceptional organizational skills
Experience with HIPPA and medical/dental record keeping (Inc. electronic record
Exceptional with collections and high collections rate, happy to make collection
calls, send collections letters, etc
CPT (common procedural technology) code knowledge preferred
Nature of Work
Expected to exercise discretion within an established range, and consult management
when established alternatives are not available.
Verbal and written communication skills are required to convey and explain factual
information. Those receiving the information may be emotional or uncooperative.
Management may not be readily available, requiring the contractor to resolve the
conflict or diffuse tension.
May be required to perform the duties and responsibilities not formally listed in
Physical Requirements and/or Working Conditions
Requires the ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
Must be legally-authorized to work in the United States, Sponsorship not available.
