We are seeking a dental assistant to become a part of our team! You will accommodate patients, as well as assist the dentist throughout the day. Fluent in Spanish and English is a must. Responsibilities: •Anticipate dentists needs be prepared for next steps •Ensure all osha, dental board plus related policies procedures are properly followed •Review the patient's medical history. •Take vital signs: blood pressure, pulse and blood glucose as needed. •Give pre/post operative instructions - within the limits designated by the dentist •Turn on all units, switches, and also water before patient sits down •Stock supplies in operatories, restrooms, and also lab as needed •Inform employer when supplies need to be re-ordered •Inform employer of broken or malfunctioning equipment •Clean and maintain all areas of the office •Seating patients in the treatment area •Sterilization and preparation of instruments •Taking impressions of teeth for study models •Polishing clinical crowns (if certified) •Providing assistance in the office with tasks such as appointment scheduling, record keeping, telephone management, and billing •Manage patient records, filing, and recall systems •Assist the dentist directly at chairside in all procedures •Provide oral hygiene instructions, preventive dentistry & dietary counseling •Perform the expanded functions legally authorized in the state of Illinois •Take x-rays, impressions, and apply fluoride and sealants (if certified) •Perform laboratory functions such as pouring & trimming models, constructing custom trays and fabricating temporary crowns and bridges •Assist with implementation and documentation of current infection control standards •Checking medical emergency equipment and supplies for expiration and function and report to the employer weekly. Qualifications: •Previous experience in customer service, front desk service, or other related fields •Fluent in Spanish and English •Ability to build rapport with patients •Strong organizational skills •Excellent written and verbal communication skills •Willingness to learn and improve as an individual
