Golden State Dentistry, a growing dental practice in Walnut Creek, CA, is seeking a full-time Dental Assistant to work Tuesday – Saturday. This position requires a full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Golden State Dentistry, as well as demonstrating behavior consistent with core values of the practice. Visit our website to learn more: www.GoldenStateDentistry.com The Dental Assistant will be a key member of the team, supporting the practice by preparing patients for and assisting with treatment, ensuring confidentiality of patient information, complying with all regulatory and clinic-mandated policies, maintaining a safe and comfortable care environment, and advocating for the best outcomes among patients and your fellow care provider. In addition to necessary industry certifications and education, the Dental Assistant will possess outstanding time management, communication, customer service, and technical skills (e.g. dental software and scheduling). The Dental Assistant will bring a can-do attitude, a proactive nature, a strong sense of ownership and integrity, and desire to continue to learn and grow. Responsibilities: • Prepare treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols • Prepare patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient • Provide information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests • Provide instrumentation by sterilizing instruments and preparing trays for filling, crown, and endo procedures • Assists the dentist during examination and treatment of patients • Mix silicates and other restorative materials • Place and remove rubber dams, matrix bands and temporary separating devices • Select and pre-fit provisional crowns and orthodontic bands • Take impressions for study/diagnostic casts, space maintainers, orthodontic appliances and occlusal guards • Remove periodontal dressings, temporary cement and sutures placed by dentists • Apply topical, anticarcinogenic agents and desensitizing agents to the teeth • Take high quality digital X-Rays • Document dental care services by charting in patient records • Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols • Maintain dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned Qualifications and Education Requirements: • Must possess High School Diploma/GED • Registered Dental Assistant certification • X-Ray certification • CPR certification • Infection Control certification • Minimum of 1-2 years of prior dental assisting experience • Bilingual in English and Russian a plus Benefits include: • Competitive pay • Health insurance • Accrued paid time-off • Collaborative and positive work environment
