Pflugerville Family Dentistry is looking for an amazing Hygiene Coordinator!
Hygiene Coordinator Job Description
Purpose and Contribution:
The hygiene coordinator position is one of the most important positions at PFD. The hygiene department is where we really establish our long term relationships with our patients. This private practice can only grow with a thriving hygiene department and we want to do everything we can to retainthe patients that we attract! In this busy day in age it is very common for patients to have last minute meetings come up or hygiene appointments they cannot pre-schedule due to other life circumstances. It is very important that you know your hygiene patients (the good ones, the ones that can’t commit, the ones that tend to reschedule etc) and how to fill hygiene cancellations and holes. It is also important that you establish a relationship with your hygienists to know their tendencies, comforts and to get feedback from them about patients. Together as a team, we know you will help our hygiene department grow, thrive, and change lives everyday!
What It’s Like on a Daily Basis:
This is a people business first, and with all people businesses, things can be unpredictable. One hour can be hectic with things coming from all directions and the next hour can be very slow with time to catch up on things. No matter what the situation is, you will want to prioritize what is most important (the answer is always “the patient right in front of me” or the “patient in the office”), not get overwhelmed, ask for help, and hold yourself to the core values of the practice. This position requires laser like focus on the hygiene schedule with the ability to also help with other front office tasks as described below. We always want to create a “WOW” patient experience; Chik-Fil-A, Southwest Airlines, Nordstroms. Go above and beyond for your patients and your team. Together we will change lives and hopefully fulfil a purpose in yours.
You will be responsible for administering the day-to-day activities of the dental front desk and office, including but not limited to: maintenance of the records of patients, scheduling of patients, maintaining appearance and order of dental office, inputting fee schedules, answering the phone, verifying insurance, checking eligibility for patients, scanning EOBs, insurance credentialing, data entry, checking and filtering mail, scanning and sending checks, reading accounts, collecting payments, presenting treatment, and recall/recare system. May also be required to assist with general front office duties.
In addition to the general duties above, the main emphasis of this position is focusing on the Hygiene Schedule.
Fill openings on hygiene schedule (most importantly today, tomorrow, and the next day)
Help setting recall hygiene appointments
Filling out routing slips for hygiene team
Confirming hygiene appointments
Check for balances on hygiene schedule and collect
Be able to read where hygiene balances are coming from if necessary
Bring to huddle
Any issues with a hygiene patient or any specific information that is important to the whole team in relation to a hygiene appointment
High school diploma
Legible handwriting for communications
Strong typing skills
Knowledge of Gmail and Google Drive a plus
Knowledge of Microsoft Office a plus
Dental Office experience desired
The most important aspect of this position is who you are as a person and what type of significance you wish to have in this lifetime. 2.) At 6 months- Were going to put an extra $150/month medical contribution on your paycheck. Instead of forcing you to pick our plan, you can use that $150 towards anything you want. Have medical insurance already? Great! Get something nice for yourself or put it in savings. The important thing here is that you have the choice to do what you want with it. We will also be providing you and your family with a fully paid $50,000 life insurance policy. Obviously, we never want your family to have to use this but we never know what can happen and we want to help you have peace of mind in case anything happens.
