Description

Administrative position available in a premier dental practice in Asheville. Act as the liaison between doctor(s) and patients. Communicate with patients regarding treatment. Presents the treatment plan, using models and diagrams, as necessary, and provides patient with related literature. Understands how and when to use digital and printed presentation handouts for enhanced patient communication during the case presentation process. Organizes and assists with consultation appointments as directed by doctor. Ability to concisely record all aspects of consultations with patients regarding examination findings, preferred plan of care, options of treatment, and risks and benefits of treatment options. Schedules treatment appointments for patients. Coordinate with specialist’s/general dentist’s office; send explanatory letters, documentation, x-rays, study models, etc. Ensure all x-rays and appropriate documentation is obtained prior to appointment and recorded in patient’s chart. Manages process and confirmation of sedation forms and Informed Consent for treatment. Estimates costs of treatment provided. Treatment plans completed for case presentation to patient in advance of scheduled consultation. Obtain Treatment plan acceptance and signed written financial arrangements. Instrumental in helping to boost dental practice profitability, increase case acceptance, monitor and follow up on incomplete dentistry and in coordinating treatment and communications with referring professionals (both to/from specialists and from general dentists). • 2 year degree from a college or technical school • Minimum of three years of dental assisting or related experience • Skilled in the use of standard office equipment including: telephones, calculators, copiers, fax, computers, and computer software (MS Excel, Word, Practice Management software).
