Dental Assistant II

Hours: Day/Night (40 hours fulltime- Off Mondays- Tuesday 7:30am-4:00pm, Wednesday 8:30-6:00pm, Thursday 8:30am-4:00pm and Friday 8:30am-4:00pm)
Under supervision of the Manager, the Dental Assistant with Expanded Duties provides clinical support for dentists in the General Practice Residency Program. Responsibilities include: chair-side assisting, radiographic film taking and processing, room set-up and breakdown and room stocking and maintenance. In addition, other support duties such as coronal polishing and application of pit and fissure sealants are also performed, as requested by the dentists.
•Standard Dental Assistant activities.
•Non-clinical activities which are standard for all associates.
•Performs other clinical support tasks on patients, as requested.
•High school diploma or equivalent. 2-3 years as a dental assistant.
•Good communication skills and solid customer service skills.
•Current CPR certification.
•Completion of Coronal Polishing/Application of Pit and Fissure Sealant Course Approved by the Illinois State Dental Society
•Bilingual in Polish/Spanish Highly Preferred
•Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
