SMILIN DENTAL Position: Dental Front Desk / Assistant Job Description: To compassionately care for patients, efficiently assist Dentists and have excellent organizational skills. Candidate must have exceptional interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment. To effectively and efficiently check in patients, verify insurance eligibility, confirm, and/or reschedule appointments as needed, and collect payments for service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Assist the Dentists during a variety of treatment procedures. · Set up and breakdown treatment rooms. · Take dental radiographs (intraoral and panoramic). · Manage infection control – prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment. · Provide patients with instructions for following all dental treatment procedures. · Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain their oral health. · Perform various office tasks as needed. · Enter information about each procedure into the Electronic Medical Record. · Maintain a neat and organized workspace. · Understand and follow HIPAA regulations to assure patient confidentiality. · Maintain professional working environment within the office team. · Additional duties may be assigned. Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities): · Excellent customer/patient service and verbal communication skills. · Experience in Dental Assisting. · Have excellent interpersonal skills and be excellent at following directions. · Must have knowledge of dental procedures, dental materials, dental supplies and equipment. · Basic computer knowledge and experience with dental management software; experience with Softdent preferred. · Ability to work in fast paced, patient-focused environment. · Interpersonal skills. Sometimes patients are in pain and/or mental stress. The Dental Assistant should be patient and sensitive to patients’ needs. · Listening skills. Candidate must be able to listen to patients and other healthcare workers, and follow directions from the Dentists. * Organization skills. Candidate should have excellent organization skills; insure all record keeping requirements are fully and accurately completed. Job Type: Full Time
