How you will make an impact: Provide competent nonsurgical periodontal therapy Maintain an active Periodontal Maintenance Program Prepare patient for dental hygiene treatment by welcoming, soothing, seating, and draping patient Take and develop dental x-rays Help dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory Educate patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions Generate patient referrals to specialists as ordered by Dentist Ensure operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements Maintain dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops Safeguards confidentiality of the medical charts/records and complies with all local, state, and federal laws pertaining to medical records Minimum Qualifications: State Licensure/Certification as required to work as a dental hygienist High School diploma or equivalency Previous dental experience Active CPR certification Preferred Qualifications: Current Certification to Administer Anesthetic
