PART - TIME POSITION / PERMANENT JOB POSITION Small private orthodontic office in Springfield, NJ (Union County) is seeking an experienced front desk person. Experience in a dental or medical office is REQUIRED. Applicant must be resident of New Jersey. Please provide three references (from dental/medical offices). Office hours: Monday (9-5), Tuesday (flexible - 2 hours), Thursday (10-5), Friday (10-5) and the first Saturday (9-1) of the month (but no Saturdays in July and August). Approximately 20-25 hours/week. Qualifications: • Must be reliable (arrive on time), responsible, and very organized • Must possess excellent telephone and in-person communication skills (must be very friendly and patient with people) • Must enjoy working with people and have a positive and energetic demeanor • Must be able to maintain a friendly and professional interaction with patients and co-workers • Must be able to use a computer and type quickly with NO TYPOS - we are fully computerized and virtually paperless • Must be able to multitask • Must provide three credible references • MUST have some medical or dental office experience - orthodontic experience preferred Responsibilities and Job Description: - Answer phones, schedule appointments • Greeting patients, perform pre-screens, scheduling, and confirming patient appointments via phone, e-mail, text and/or in person • Providing a comfortable, clean, and caring environment for patients (keep office clean) • Confirming all patient appointments the day before appointment and maintaining an up-to-date recall list • Helping new patients fill out all necessary paper work, and entering data accurately into computer with no mistakes • Verifying insurance benefits (check patient benefits on insurance websites and/or call insurance companies) • Entering data, maintaining, updating, and scanning all patient records into the computer • Working with insurance companies and create, send, and follow up on claims • Collecting all payments from patients (including running monthly auto pay payments) and keeping track of patient accounts, sending out statements/bills when necessary, collections accounts • Administrative duties including maintaining office inventory, copying, faxing, filing, sorting the mail • Assisting doctor and carrying out specific tasks assigned by Doctor and Assistant • Maintaining a clean work environment throughout the office
