Description

Award-winning and highly respected dental practice is seeking a skilled dental hygienist with excellent communication skills to join our team of nurturing and well-trained providers to care for patients of all ages. Our practice is equipped with modern technology including digital radiography, electronic record-keeping, and more. Applicants of all experience levels will be considered, Applicant should be committed to high quality patient care with top-notch customer service as the overriding objective. Hourly rates are competitive. Participation in matching 401(k) plan available after one year of continuous employment. Responsibilities: Promote general dental health by completing prophylaxis, oral cancer screening, radiographic studies, and chart conditions of decay and disease in compliance with the guidelines and laws of the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners. Maintain proper certifications as required by law and the dental practice management, including CPR, state dental hygienist registration, and all required continuing education. Prepare treatment room by adhering to prescibed procedures and protocols. Prepare patient for treatment by welcoming, soothing, seating and draping patient. Effectively and accurately document all consultation, diagnosis, treatment, and medication provided to patients. Provide accurate information to patient, doctors, assistants and clerical staff. Maintain safe and sterile patient and employee enviornment by following proper infection control procedures. Maintain instruments and equipment for dental hygiene treatment by sharpening, sterilizing and proper selection. Select materials and equipment appropriate for treatment through patient oral health screening. Conserve available resources by using appropriate equipment and supplies. Maintain patient confidence and confidentiality of health information according to current applicable laws and guidelines. Educate patient and parent on proper maintenance of oral health. Required Qualifications and Skills: Bachelors degree preferred Excellent communication skills Licensed by Texas State Board of Dental Examiners, maintained annually with minimum expected continuing education (CE) credits (class fees paid by hygienist) Current CPR certifcation, maintained according to state law Experience in a dental office a plus
