Registered Dental Hygienist for growing family practice in South Austin Blue Sky Family Dentistry is currently looking to invite a compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team! We know the pandemic changed everything, but we have been very fortunate to have been able to continue to grow our practice throughout these hard times and to expand our amazing team. September will mark our 3 year anniversary! Blue Sky Family Dentistry was built with a passion for providing exceptional dental care and the best possible experience for each and every patient. It’s about more than a great dental experience; it’s about building trust and relationships. Part time or full time? The position will be full time, with alternating 4 and 5 day weeks since the office is closed every other Friday. The office hours are Mon-Thursday 8:00-12:30, 1:30-4:30 and alternating Fridays with the same hours. How much experience do I need to apply? This is the perfect position for both experienced and new dental hygienists. You will have the support of a dental assistant and the opportunity to learn about digital dentistry and how this can improve the outcomes of our patients. What are we looking for? The right candidate will be upbeat, self-motivated, compassionate, patient, a good communicator, and have solid clinical skills. We consider it our number one priority to make sure our patients feel comfortable and welcome by treating everyone with warmth and care. We see patients of all ages and backgrounds, including patients with disabilities so we expect every person on our staff to be patient, understanding, and professional. While experience is a plus, it is not necessary for the right candidate so if you think you’d be a good fit please apply! Expected duties: Must be able to take digital x-rays at times and willing/able to help with sterilization/turning over your own room if necessary. However we do have a dental assistant who supports our hygienist. Perform thorough cleanings for adults and occasionally children, periodontal charting, educate patients on good oral hygiene techniques, perform scaling and root planing, coronal polishing, sealant and N2O certification is a plus. We also expect that you are able or willing to learn how to take intraoral scans with an iTero, educate patients on the effects of sleep apnea and malocclusion, and discuss solutions with the patients. Qualification’s/Requirement Current and active Texas Registered Dental Hygienist License. Current BLS/CPR certification Practice of Health and Safety precautions and regulations, understand and follow HIPAA and OSHA regulations Must have excellent interpersonal skills Be a reliable and collaborative team member Everything else is teachable. PPE is provided as we follow all ADA and CDC rules. Our hours of operation are currently Monday – Friday with every other Friday off. Your two days on can be discussed to best fit your schedule. Our current office schedule is as follows: We start at 8:00AM to allow ourselves time to settle in and have a morning huddle to discuss anything that has to do with the day to day operation. Our first patient is scheduled at 8:30. Lunch time is currently 12:30PM-1:30PM Our first afternoon patient is scheduled at 1:30PM and our last patient is 3:30 PM. We try to end our day at 4:30. There will sometimes be unpredictable days where we ask that you will be ok with staying until 4:45PM -5:00PM at the latest. However, we genuinely strive to keep the schedule predictable. Pay: Competitive. Depends on experience. Benefits: We offer free dental to our employees with the exception of lab fees. This includes clear aligners! Paid sick leave accumulates every pay period for staff that have worked with us for over 6 months. CE courses will be covered for staff members that have worked with us for over 6 months and who have proven motivated to expand their skill set.
