Sterilization Assistant Part or Full-time Willing to train the right candidate. Phased Signing Bonus $1500.00 1/3 paid when offered the position and accepted, 1/3 paid after 90 days employment, 1/3 paid after 6 months employment. $17.00 per hour Eligibility after One year of Full-Time Employment For 401K and Paid Vacations Paid Holidays after 90 days Mondays Patient Care Hours - 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., team members arrive 40 minutes prior to patient care and will stay after patient care at least 30 minutes. Tuesdays Patient Care Hours - 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., team members arrive 40 minutes prior to patient care and will stay after patient care at least 30 minute. Wednesdays Patient Care Hours - 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., team members arrive 40 minutes prior to patient care and will stay after patient care at least 30 minutes. Thursdays Patient Care Hours - 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., team members arrive 40 minutes prior to patient care and will stay after patient care at least 30 minutes. Essential Functions include, but are not limited to: Decontaminate and sterilize instruments, Assemble, wrap, sterilize trays of instruments. Follow sterilization precautions while decontaminating. Monitor biological and chemical wash solutions to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination of instruments and dental equipment. Perform environmental maintenance duties and maintain logs in a thorough manner. Assist in maintaining inventory levels in sterile processing and supply storage areas. Verify that instruments and equipment are functioning properly, and when needed are identified and removed when in a defective condition. Maintains a clean and safe work area. Perform spore testing and maintain a log of the results. Perform weekly and monthly maintenance of Autoclave. Assist clinical staff in optimizing patient flow, including restocking items, seating patients, supporting other dental team members with patient care. Assist with maintaining established company policies and procedures, objectives, and quality safety, and environmental and infection control standards. Sort mismatched sets of instruments, trays, dental equipment and make them available for use. Restock, label, maintain inventory, collect and distribute instruments and trays. Perform environmental maintenance duties and assist in maintaining inventory levels in sterile processing, the clinical area and in supply storage. Knowledge and Abilities: Obtain the knowledge of the essential functions, practices and procedures of a dental office. Obtain the knowledge of OSHA standards for cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilization procedures within a dental office. Obtain the knowledge of dental instruments, names and usage of dental equipment. Obtain the knowledge of OSHA safety standards for handling contaminated instruments, set up of sterile fields, and sterile cassettes. Develop the Ability to set up a variety of sterile cassettes based on provider preference and procedure. Develop the Ability to work independently without immediate supervision. Other duties as assigned. Education requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Hepatitis B Vaccination. Experience: Willing to Train, but experience working in a dental setting would be awesome!
