Description

We are currently seeking a full time Patient Coordinator to join our team in Gardendale, Alabama. We serve all demographics and ages, and we operate a busy office with high, but well-managed, levels of traffic. In addition to preventive care appointments and scheduled procedures, we accept walk-ins and take emergency calls. Our first priority is taking care of our patients, but our second is maintaining a healthy work-life balance for our associates. The ideal candidate will have a calm, reassuring, and friendly demeanor as well as the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Our office hours are Monday-Wednesday (8 AM - 5 PM) and Thursday (7 AM - 4 PM). We offer competitive pay and built-in paid vacation time for all employees. Compensation may be flexible based on experience. Responsibilities include: Efficient and strategic coordination of doctor and hygiene schedules Coordination of patient care with outside (specialty) offices to help ensure proper referral and return appointments Insurance Verification Organization of treatment plans with accurate estimation of insurance coverage Pleasant customer communication and interaction (both in office and while answering the telephone to schedule or help answer patient questions) Collecting patient payments Proficiency in performing office management tasks that often require the use of Excel and Word documents, as well as email communication Assisting insurance coordinator as needed Additional responsibilities as needed Requirements include: Previous experience (at least 1 year) of working in a dental practice in the front or back office (experience working as an assistant is beneficial, but not required) Excellent verbal communication skills Basic understanding and knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules Current CPR certification At least 1 professional reference
