We are seeking 1 full or 2 part-time hygienists to add to our team. Hygienists work collaboratively with doctors to deliver high-quality care and positive patient experiences. RESPONSIBILITIES Counseling patients and keeping them calm during the examination and treatment. Cleaning teeth and examining patient oral areas, head and neck for signs of oral disease. Screening patients, including conducting mouth and neck examinations. Charting and reviewing oral health history with accuracy. Educating patients on proper teeth and gum care and the importance of diet on oral health Taking X-rays and developing dental impressions and radiographs of teeth. Cleaning calcareous deposits, accretions and stains from teeth and beneath gum margins with dental instruments. Charting conditions of dental decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by the dentist. Staying current with the latest developments in dentistry. Maintaining and sterilizing dental equipment. Applying fluorides and other cavity preventing agents to prevent dental decay Supporting the dentist(s) on all aspects of dental care, including but not limited to; applying numbing agents, presenting/recommending treatment plans, ordering supplies, etc. Providing support staff with written details pertaining to treatments for billing purposes. Maintaining a clean, sterile, and welcoming environment for every patient. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Ability to prepare and utilize dental equipment and instruments. Excellent working knowledge of overall dentistry and dental hygiene procedures, dental patient screening and medical history documentation required. Willingness to assist at other DDC locations as needed. Comfortable with dental software and Office Suites experience required. Demonstrates leadership skills. Bilingual a plus. EDUCATION Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state for which you apply Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene CPR Certification Bachelor’s degree a plus CORE COMPETENCIES Problem Solving – Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully; develop alternative solutions; work well in group problem solving situations; use reason when dealing with emotional topics.
