POSITION SUMMARY: Semidey Dental is growing! We are looking for an experienced part-time Dental Hygienist to complete our team. This position is currently part-time on MONDAYS, 9am-5pm, with the potential to grow. We are looking for an experienced, competent Dental Hygienist who will help make our office an efficient and pleasant place for patients and co-workers. Extra attention to gentleness is a must. This position requires a hygienist that is well-organized with great attention to detail and proficient problem-solving skills. You should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office protocol. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures as smooth as possible. SPECIFIC DUTIES FOR DENTAL HYGIENIST: Delivers direct care to patients for various types of prophylactic and maintenance hygiene procedures. Assesses and evaluates patients through exam, patient records, and patient’s medical history to assist in diagnosis of dental hygiene problems, disease, and efficacy of administered treatment plans. Recognize signs of early periodontal disease; notate areas of concern. Ensure all quality control requirements are completed as stated in policies. Assist in maintaining efficient patient flow. Being able to stay on time is a must. Knowledge of and performance of all RDH duties. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to take direction. Function as part of a team in patient care and performance of daily activities. Educate and motivate patients on proper oral hygiene and corrective/preventive measures. We are looking for someone who is detailed and organized. Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods. Producing treatment plans and discussing treatment with patients. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Electronic Dental Records knowledge (Experience with OpenDental dental software a plus) Registered Dental Hygiene license and successful completion of local anesthesia course. Ability to maintain current licensure. Ability to provide excellent patient care with consideration to gentle techniques. Ability to work well with other staff members. PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of Dental practice and care to assist in giving patient care. Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures. Knowledge of dental equipment and instruments to administer patient care. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, and staff. Ability to maintain quality control standards. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures. Ability to communicate clearly.
