Orthodontic Assistant Orthodontic Practice is looking for a Full-time Orthodontic Assistant to join our office. The successful applicant must be self-motivated, detail oriented, caring and compassionate individual to connect with parents and patients. Also, someone who possesses a positive attitude with professional commitment be friendly and out-going in a team-oriented environment. Duties or responsibilities: • Greet, escort and sit patients for Orthodontic appointment • Review health history according to office procedures • Take digital radiography • Assist Orthodontist in management of emergencies • Take impressions, pour and trim models . Scan patients to get digital impressions • Clean and set up rooms for next patient • Adheres to all OSHA, HIPPA and Federal rules and regulations • Discuss with patients the instructions for care • Observes professional dress code • Be cost effective and responsible for the care of assigned equipment/ supplies • Perform expanded functions and other task as assigned by the Doctor • Complete proper sterilization, biohazard and infection control Sterilize and organize instruments • Store sterilized instruments and set up examination trays with required dental instruments for schedule procedures and duties • Prepare patient records (pictures, x-rays and study models) • Stock supplies and maintain dental equipment to meet practice and manufacturer guidelines • Manage patient flow • Order supplies and track inventory to maintain appropriate supply inventory and utilize cost effective techniques • Dispose of Biohazard materials according to OSHA and Office procedures Requirements: (The applicant must meet the following requirements) • High School diploma • Completion of an approved Dental Assistant program and certification as a Dental Assistant (RDA) • 3 or more years of orthodontic experience • Certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) • Plus but not required to be a Specialized Orthodontic Assistant (SOA) • Must be computer proficient and learn new software easily ( software used in our office Ortho2) • Excellent communication skills • Ability to multi-task • Availability to work during applicable business hours • Ability to work well with children of all ages • Ability to work under pressure and who understand and follow the chain of command • English sufficient to provide and receive instructions/directions • X-ray license This position offers: • Great location • Professional clinical team • Full –time hours • Pay based on experience • Benefits available include: (after 3 months period) sick, holidays, vacations paid, uniforms, Don’t delay in submitting your information if you are a motivated, skilled professional ready for a career enhancement.
