Front Desk - Collections Coordinator Davis and Dingle Family Dentistry is a well-established and dynamic dental practice that has been proudly serving Columbia and the surrounding areas for over 25 years. Our practice is in need of an exceptional Collections Coordinator to join our tight-knit team. This career-minded individual should be a team player with a great attitude. Our team is held to the highest standards of patient care and professionalism. Qualified candidates will also be able to communicate well with patients and team members. Position Summary: Performs a variety of support duties while collecting past due accounts. Must follow universal precautions and all OSHA and HIPAA requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: • Initiates collection procedures for account receivables that have not made financial arrangements. • Makes financial arrangements for guarantor portion of treatment and enters financial agreements into patients’ account. • Monitors financial agreements to ensure timely payments. • Initiates contact with patients that have an outstanding balance before sending account to collection agency. • Monitors daily appointment list for patients with past due accounts before any dental additional work is performed. • Review and transmits payments to collection agency and posts information to patients’ accounts. • Communicates with Insurance Claims Coordinator about payments as needed • Posts payments from the insurance companies to the patients’ accounts. • Assists with all front office operations to include answering phones, check-in, and check-out, and scheduling appointments. • Research dental collections list • Problem solve financial issue with patients via telephone • Verify patient accounts and electronically send out monthly statements • Take messages for doctors and co-workers • Rotate front desk lunch check-out • Other duties as requested This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
