Description

Front Office and/or Clinical Office Assistant Are you seeking to earn extra hours (starting in the late afternoon) or does your life-style preference prefer a part-time job that starts at 4PM? The Oral Surgery office of Dr. Philip Koch is seeking someone truly special to help us during our “rush hour” which is from late afternoon (starting at 4PM) and clocking out whenever we finish our last patient (usually 8PM, but can be later!) If your qualities include a servant’s heart, sharp mind, eagerness to work non-standard business hours (to meet your unique work needs), and carry a commitment to help every patient get out of dental pain – then, you are likely reading the ad for a job that will help you, others, and … will help us, too! Our Surgeon and our Team have a Mission. Dr. Koch founded his oral surgery practice on 3 principles: Be Affable, Be Able and Be Available! Therefore, this amazing team will not close their doors and go home until every patient who has asked to be seen that day HAS BEEN SEEN! Due to the late hours, our full-time team members are seeking part-time help (to cover for them when their regular early morning-daytime shift ends). We are seeking 2 part-timers: one to manage the front desk and assistant to join our clinical team. Which one suits you best? Or, are you interested in either? Let us share more! Front desk duties include: • Patient registration • Requesting payment and posting • Patient “check in” • Patient “check out” • Answering the phone • Scheduling post-operative follow up appointments • Occasional “light” clinical support (setting up a room or escorting a patient) Clinical Duties include: • Seating patients • Reviewing medical history and prescriptions/over the counter medications • Instrument Sterilization • Passing instruments and materials to Dr. Koch during surgery • Procedure set up and room break down • Escorting patients from reception to surgery • Answering questions, providing post-operative information • Expressing empathy, confidence, support, and offering reassurance Does your ideal workday begin at 4PM? Hours: Clock in at 4PM and clock out after the last patient is sent home, typically 8PM, but it can be later. The role is available M-F or the role can be “job-shared”. This position is perfect for the part-time worker desiring to supplement hours or the stay-at-home care-taker who wants a great part-time job. This position is also perfect for a student looking for an amazing work experience to complement their studies in nursing, healthcare administration, kinesiology, exercise science, or biology. We can employ one person to cover this schedule M-F or this can be “job-shared” with two part-timers collaboratively covering all 5 days. Androids, Dragon Ladies (or Dudes), and Vulcans are probably not ideal fits! Let’s see if you quality: A most important qualification is genuine kindness. Patients often see us when they are in pain and pain does not inspire one to win a congeniality contest. It is our job to see the bigger picture and let our first treatment step be kindness. Additionally, we are seeking candidates with initiative and a desire to always be busy and contributing. Ideally – BUT NOT REQUIRED DUE TO OUR ABILITY TO TRAIN- our candidate will have some healthcare setting familiarity or healthcare education/training. Examples are: prior work or internship in a medical or dental practice setting, experience in surgical technology or phlebotomy, some basics of sterilization or instrument management, record documentation, or handling phones in a professional office setting. We will train the right candidate, even if that right candidate has no prior medical or dental experience as long as they are not squeamish and is personable, caring, and attentive to details! And, Hablas espanol? Some Spanish speaking skills would be awesome, but are not required. We look forward to reviewing your qualifications and learning how this position fits your lifestyle and career goals! Compensation: We offer excellent, competitive, and rewarding wages increasing to potential earnings of $20/hour after training and acquiring skill proficiency. You can do much to accelerate your earnings by initiative, study, and practice. We offer a career experience -with training -that will shape your knowledge and experience in healthcare. Students with post-graduate school hopes will find these hours and Dr. Koch’s recommendation extremely helpful to future application process. Last, but not least: each day we leave work knowing the precise positive impact that we made in the lives of others… as they are finally relieved of their pain and discomfort, relaxing at home and healing. Applying is EASY! Send your resume to: Please: • Only contact us via the email address above. • Do check your email and watch your security settings!
