Description

Full-time and Part-Time Licensed Dental Hygienist to administer oral hygiene care to patients. Assess patient oral hygiene problems or needs and maintain health records. Advise patients on oral care maintenance and disease prevention. May provide advanced care such as providing fluoride treatment or administering topical anesthesia. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Complete dental prophylaxis. Administer local anesthetic agents when needed. Remove excess cement from coronal surfaces of teeth. Perform periodontal scaling and root planing after proper diagnosis. Take x-rays utilizing digital equipment. Provide clinical services or health education to improve and maintain the oral health of patients (or the general public) including but not limited to : proper dental care and maintenance, fluoride, post-operative instructions. Apply fluorides or other cavity preventing agents to arrest dental decay. Effectively communicate findings of oral exam to dentist. Chart conditions of decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by dentist. Maintain patient recall system. Maintain dental equipment and sharpen and sterilize dental instruments, stock treatment rooms as necessary.
