Our growing single dentist practice is looking for an experienced dentist to join our team. Someone who can efficiently perform general dentistry while also providing a pleasant and comforting experience for the patients. Patient education is extremely important, and we place emphasis on patients understanding their clinical situation, rationale for proposed treatment, and what is necessary for home care maintenance. This position is part time, 1.5 to 2 days a week, with preferred day flexibility. We see 30-40 new patients each month and do a great job of retaining our existing patients for sustained growth. You will quickly have a full, productive schedule with a priority over treatment rendered based on your diagnosis, including large and specialty cases up to your experience level. The owner dentist does not perform any endo, implant placements, or 3rd molar extractions. While the ability to perform these procedures is not a requirement for this job, we would love to keep these procedures in the office by referring them to you if they are part of your clinical skill set. We have amazing front office and clinical teams which allow our office to run smoothly, efficiently, and without drama. The work environment is supportive and caring which shows in how we treat each other and patients like family. Because of this, we have patients who are kind, respectful, and follow through with our recommended treatment and home care. Our office is up to date using fully digital charting with Dentrix, digital radiographs, Itero Element 5D scanner, and intraoral cameras. Dentist Duties and Responsibilities: 1.5 to 2 days per week All exams for a two hygienist schedule Treatment planning and presentation for new patients General Dentistry treatment based on your treatment plans Restorative dentistry including composite and amalgam fillings, and crown and bridge Simple, single tooth extractions Removable including complete and partial dentures Single tooth implant restorations Emergency exams and same day treatment Coordinating and managing the team Thorough treatment notes Dentist Requirements: A license to practice dentistry (D.D.S. or D.M.D.) Virginia state license Willingness to be coached on clinical dentistry, treatment presentation, and team management Ability to remain calm under pressure A pleasant and compassionate personality with the ability to make patients feel comfortable Experience with basic dental procedures (see list under Duties above) Experience with any more advanced procedures preferred, including: Invisalign Endodontics Implant placement Multi-unit implant restorations – both fixed and removable 3rd molar or other surgical extractions
