Listed below are qualities and traits that we are looking for regarding this position: Patient Communication and Responsibilities: - Manage expeditious insurance research to ensure accurate/detailed information regarding patient benefits in a fee for services practice. - Research patient insurance plans to know their benefit limits for frequency and availability to improve maximum use of insurance where possible. - Ensure all private pay portions of the treatment plan and service are collected at patient check-out - Resolve issues with claims, including, but not limited to, filing appeals, submitting reports to the lost claims or unfair decisions that would limit treatment. - Partnering with 3 rd party providers in questions on submitted insurance claims, to meet the expectations of the practice - Presentation of treatment plans and financial options to patients in a way that articulates the best interest for the patient and their dental health - Developing positive relationships with patients and families - Answer telephones Front Office Responsibilities: -To complete pre-authorization and authorization process for dental insurance for a fee-for-service office. - Create and maintain insurance coverage tables and frequency notes - Coordinate with Front Desk staff, as well Patient Care staff to efficiently meet schedules and patient needs. - Verifying information for accuracy - Daily adjustment doctor review and approval, and corresponding transactional adjustments in Dentrix - Updating patient information and data entry of benefit information into practice management software - Upload dental coverage from various websites - Daily execution of scanning documents completing EOB activities, including any necessary deposits - Very proficient and effective with data entry - Responsibility for chart audits - Aggregation and preparation of payroll reports - Work with staff on any insurance appeals and documentation - Execute any necessary collections process once 3rd party collection efforts have been exhausted Requirements: - Basic computer skills including Google Docs, and MS Excel and Word - Working knowledge of Insurance billing - Working knowledge of Dentrix Software - Good listener - Strong customer service skills - Excellent communication skills - Well organized, with attention to detail and accuracy - Achieve office goals by working efficiently and providing a high level of patient services. - Ability to multitask and be a team-player - Possess a positive can do attitude, self-motivated, strong work ethic This position expects the following tasks/functions to be served well: - Learn Front Desk operations, initiate and manage charts, schedules, and learn the software programs used, answer telephones, courteously speak to patients, and to coordinate patient services to meet schedules and patient expectations. - Some in-office marketing may also be included in scope of duties so a background in marketing is a plus. - The right person for this job will present with an appropriate level of verbal skills, problem-solving skills, and must be a self-starter, motivated for success, helpful and a real team player. - Possess bright pleasant demeanor, a helpful attitude and cheerful conduct are a must for this position as you will meet patients who will receive the best care possible from this practice. - This practice has a very successful history, the staff is tenured with this office, excellent and we all care for each other in a respectful manner.
