We are a private periodontal office looking for a positive, detail oriented, organized and highly motivated surgical assistant to join our team. Our office hours are: Tuesday 7:40am-5:00pm (lunch 1-2pm) Wednesday 7:40am-5:00pm (lunch 1-2pm) Thursday 7:40am-5:00pm (lunch 1-2pm) Friday 7:40am-3:00pm The surgical assistant is the primary point of contact in the back. It’s your job to ensure the patient feels comfortable and confident about the care they received today and in the future. This person must feel very comfortable speaking to patients and explaining procedures. Below are daily responsibilities expected • Very attentive to the daily schedule, the ability to keep the doctor on track and on time • Review charts and obtain missing information needed to allow the appointment to run efficiently • Clinical notes entered on all patients in a timely manner • Keeping track of materials that need to be ordered • Sterilize instruments according to regulations • Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials needed for each appointment • Able to provide oral hygiene and post-operative instructions clearly and with confidence • Keep operatories clean and well stocked • Schedule follow up appointments • Knowledgeable and skilled in digital radiographs • Attention to detail • Well organized and reliable • Experience with Dentrix and Dexis is a plus • Bilingual a plus REQUIREMENTS: • Current RDA • CPR certified • Nitrous Oxide Certified • At least 3 years experience as a surgical assistant Benefits offered after 1 year of employment: • Retirement plan • Paid time off
