Middle Tennessee Oral and Implant Surgery (MTOIS) in Smyrna, TN, is seeking a skilled and committed Registered Dental Assistant to join our team and assist us in delivering exceptional care to our patients. Our core belief is putting the patient’s needs first, and it underlies every aspect of our practice. The ideal candidate for the Dental Assistant position should possess a natural inclination towards providing compassionate care. Your Daily Job Duties and Responsibilities: - Assist the Oral Surgeon during a variety of surgical procedures. - Prepare treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols. - Take dental x-rays of excellent, diagnostic quality. - Record and review patient health history accurately and completely. - Serve as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol, and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment. - Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after surgical treatment. - Provide patients with post-operative instructions for oral care following surgery or other oral treatment procedures. - Record doctor notes and vital sign information during a surgical procedure or office consultation. - Perform office management tasks that often require the use of a computer. - Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential. Preferred Qualifications: - Certification or Associate Degree in an accredited Dental Assistance program. - Two or more years of experience as a Dental Assistant strongly desired. - High school diploma or equivalent. - Experience using computers for a variety of tasks. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Consistent professional appearance and attitude. - Detail oriented, punctual, and patient care focused. - Motivated to grow and learn - Ability to cross train and perform front office functions.
