Our state of the art dental practice is looking for a patient care coordinator.
This position offers some amazing growth potential as we are a new practice on the verge of expansion.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service and addressing their inquiries and concerns
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain accurate and up-to-date calendars
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for treatments and procedures
- Maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with dental billing and coding,
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow up on patient care plans
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care coordination
- Provide administrative support to the healthcare team, including managing phone calls, emails, and correspondence
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred
- Previous experience in a medical or dental office setting is highly desired
- Proficiency in medical terminology and knowledge of medical records management
- Familiarity with insurance verification processes and managed care plans
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional demeanor
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
Skills:
- Office administration skills for managing administrative tasks in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of medical or dental billing and coding
- Experience working in a dental office environment is a plus
- Familiarity with managed care plans to navigate insurance verification processes effectively
- Proficiency in medical records management to ensure accurate documentation of patient information
- Understanding of medical terminology to communicate effectively with healthcare providers
- Ability to verify insurance coverage for patients' treatments and procedures while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week

Work setting: We treat patients 4 days/week alternating every other Monday/Friday (we alternate from 2 day weekend/4 day weekend) the first day of the week is 10:30-7, the middle days are 8-4 & the last day of the week is 7-2
