We are a small, family-owned dental office that has been caring for patients in Fairfax, VA since 1986! Our dental office is seeking a kind, compassionate, and skilled dental hygienist to join our team! We focus on providing quality, honest, and individualized patient care in a relaxed environment. We do not focus on production goals, just quality dental service in a warm and welcoming environment. Our patient base is wonderful and many have been coming to our practice for decades! Joining our practice is like joining a large, extended family. Applicants who would be interested in only certain days or a part-time schedule are encouraged to apply! Responsibilities Reliability and arriving on time Perform thorough dental cleanings, associated periodontal therapies such as scaling and root planing, and examinations to assess patients' oral health. Take and record dental records including dental radiographs and periodontal charting exams Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits. Utilize dental terminology effectively to communicate with patients and team members. Maintain an aseptic technique and OSHA standards during all procedures to ensure patient safety. Maintain HIPAA compliance Document patient care appropriately Communicate effectively with the dentist and staff Treat all patients and staff with professionalism and kindness Come to work with a positive attitude Assist with sterilization procedures when needed Contribute to various administrative tasks during periods of no patient care Maintaining continuing education to comply with Virginia Dental Hygiene license renewal standards Qualifications Valid Virginia license to practice as a Dental Hygienist. At least 1 year experience working as a dental hygienist preferred but not required Strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures. Knowledge of aseptic techniques is essential for maintaining patient safety. Experience with Dentrix is advantageous. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and comfort. Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and CPR Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating self initiative when required Join our passionate team dedicated to providing high-quality dental care in a supportive environment!
