Responsibilities/Duties for Dental Hygienist:
- Perform dental hygiene services and procedures on children and adults, including dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, fluoride and sealants
- Completes thorough assessments of the patients’ teeth, bone, and periodontal tissues, and document any abnormalities or suspected conditions
- Anesthetizing patients for both hygiene and doctor procedures
- Organizing and presenting treatment plans, scheduling patients, answering phones, helping with check in and check out, and navigating insurance plan coverage
- Customize care to meet patientand#39;s oral health needs, educate patients on good oral hygiene techniques, and maintain patient confidentiality
- Participates in creating a safe work environment through sterilization, room turnover, stocking, instrument sharpening, supply ordering, and equipment maintenance/repair
- Supports fellow team members positively and enthusiastically with any office needs or responsibilities including fellow hygienists, assistants, doctors, and front desk staff
- Constructively and positively participates in weekly staff and departmental meetings as well as quarterly meetings to discuss/work on goals and growth of the practice
- Uphold the mission statement and core values of the practice and the no gossip “golden rule”
Qualifications/prerequisites for Dental Hygienist:
- Registered Dental Hygienist licensure for Alaska
- Excellent interpersonal skills, teamwork, and desire to constantly improve as listed previously
Preferred Qualifications for Dental Hygienist:
- Local Anesthetic Certification for Alaska
