🦷 Now Hiring: Surgical Dental Assistant (Full-Time) Location: Canfield, OH Schedule: Tuesday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (Fridays until 2:30) Start Date: ASAP (ideally by May 5) About Us At Mahoning Valley Periodontics and Dental Implants, we are a small, highly specialized periodontal team focused on delivering outstanding periodontal surgical and implant care. With our practice growing, we are seeking a Lead Surgical Dental Assistant to join and help us continue offering excellent care. Position Overview This full-time role is primarily surgical assisting — supporting our periodontist in implant placements, grafting procedures, extractions, and more. You will also help lead clinical setup, sterilization coordination, and patient flow during surgical days. Key Responsibilities - Chairside surgical assisting for implants, grafting, periodontal surgery - Taking digital radiographs, impressions, intraoral photos - Managing room turnover, instrument sterilization, tray setups - Tracking surgical supplies and ordering as needed - Supporting patient education and post-op care instructions - Helping lead smooth daily clinical operations alongside the doctor Requirements - At least 1 year of surgical or periodontal assisting experience (required) - Radiography certification (Ohio) (required) - Calm, professional, and efficient clinical presence - Great communication skills with patients and team - Willingness to continue growing and learning advanced procedures - Experience with Open Dental is a plus but not required Compensation & Benefits - Hourly Pay: $22–$27/hour based on experience - Paid time off (two weeks to start) - Paid holidays (including Good Friday) - Retirement plan with match and profit sharing - Scrubs provided - 4-day workweek — no evenings, no weekends - Positive, close-knit team culture If you're an experienced surgical assistant looking for a supportive, patient-centered practice to call home, we'd love to hear from you!
