Company: MyCHN Position: Registered Dental Hygienist Locations: MyCHN Clute & MyCHN Technology Drive MyCHN is a nonprofit organization providing Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health, and Pharmacy services to communities in the Greater Houston and Gulf Coast area. We were founded in 2008 with one provider, three exam rooms and a big dream. Today, we have over 100 providers and more than 15 locations. Job Summary: The Dental Hygienist is responsible to provide health care to all people without prejudice, in a caring manner. The dental hygienist is responsible for providing excellent oral hygiene, appropriate preventative, and educational preventative information to the patients SFACHN dental clinic. The vision of SFACHN is to be the leader in providing quality services and programs which meet or exceed the expectations of our customers. Duties and Responsibilities: • Provides clinical oral hygiene services including dental prophylaxis, scaling, sealant application, fluoride application, and exposing radiographs consistent with accepted professional practices and standards in compliance with applicable state law and clinic protocols • Obtains baselines oral hygiene assessment data based upon accepted principles of oral hygiene and periodontal care • Records patient hygienist transactions as they occur in the patient’s dental record so that the dental record accurately and completely reflects the nature • Provides oral health education, conducts oral hygiene classes, and appropriate individual counseling for all clinic patients • Oversees the activities of dental or hygiene student oral health education presentations • Performs independent procedures as delegated and directed by the Dental Director in accordance with state regulations and law as well as Dental Department protocols and directives • Assists in the maintenance of all Dental Departments areas in compliance with Dental Department directives and policies as well as center policies and procedures relative to infection control, exposures control, and safety issues • Responsible for personal compliance with all applicable federal, state, local and center rules, regulations, protocols and procedures governing the practice of dental hygiene and the clinical provision of dental hygiene services as well as those relating to, but no limited to, personal issues, workplace safety, public health and confidentiality • Coordinates the day-to-day work functions of SFACHN • Other duties as assigned within scope Required Skills/Abilities: • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively • Ability to work with people of all socioeconomic levels • Strong team player with a focus on collaboration • Highly capable and knowledgeable to pre assess and treatment plan • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and have a creative approach • Consumer advocate for quality health care and services • Ability to be adaptable to change, flexibility Preferred Skills/Abilities: • Bilingual ability in Spanish • Open dental knowledge Required Education and Experience: • High school diploma or GED • Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene school, Associate’s degree, or Bachelor’s degree • Valid and current Registered Dental Hygienist license • CPR/BLS Benefits: • Competitive Dental Hygienist productivity incentive program • Up to $50,000 in HRSA Student Loan Repayment • Health and Dental Insurance with the employee monthly premium paid 100% by MyCHN • 401 (k) with up to 4% company matching • Paid Time Off + Sick Time + CE Hours + Conference Hours + Holiday + Personal Day • $15,000 of Basic Life Insurance coverage paid by MyCHN • Continuing Education Stipend $1,500/year • Referral Bonus • Flexible schedules • High opportunity for growth • Other benefits offered: Vision, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, Hospital Indemnity, Critical Illness, etc.
