Job Title: Patient Treatment & Insurance/Billing Coordinator Location: Preston Creek Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Reports To: Office Manager & Practice Owner Employment Type: Full-Time, On-site. Hours 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (M-T) 7:30 AM – 2 PM Fri. ________________________________________ About Us: Preston Creek Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is a well-established, privately owned and operated, oral surgery practice dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients. Our team is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Patient Treatment & Insurance/Billing Coordinator to join our practice. ________________________________________ Position Overview: The Patient Treatment & Insurance/Billing Coordinator plays a key role in managing patient care from initial consultation through treatment, while ensuring accurate billing and insurance processing. This individual will act as a liaison between patients, providers, and insurance companies, helping to create a seamless experience for both patients and the practice. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, and capable of handling a high volume of patient interactions while maintaining accuracy in billing procedures. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities: • Patient Coordination & Scheduling: o Work with patients to schedule consultations, follow-up appointments, and surgeries. o Provide detailed information to patients regarding treatment plans, procedures, and costs. o Ensure all patient records and treatment plans are up-to-date and accurate. • Billing & Insurance: o Verify patient insurance information and assist with the submission of claims. o Follow up on unpaid claims and work with insurance companies to resolve discrepancies, including submitting appeals. o Ensure proper coding of treatments and services for insurance claims. o Assist with the explanation of patient balances, co-pays, and out-of-pocket costs. o Process patient payments and manage billing inquiries. o Weekly, monthly and yearly reporting for outstanding insurance & patient payments. • Patient Communication & Support: o Provide excellent customer service to patients by addressing questions and concerns promptly and professionally. o Educate patients on insurance benefits and treatment costs, ensuring transparency. o Coordinate with the surgical team to ensure that patients receive the appropriate pre-operative and post-operative care instructions. • Compliance & Record Management: o Maintain accurate patient treatment records, billing statements, and insurance forms. o Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations. o Assist with audits and reviews of treatment plans and billing practices. • Team Collaboration: o Work closely with oral surgeons, dental assistants, and other staff to ensure smooth patient care and billing processes. o Support the Office Manager in day-to-day office operations as needed. o Assists in any area of the practice as needed/ ________________________________________ Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in medical billing, healthcare administration, or a related field is preferred. • A minimum of 3 years experience in a Dental office, preferably in an oral surgery or specialty practice. • Knowledge of insurance verification, billing processes, and medical coding (CPT, ICD-10). • Current RDA license with experience as an Assistant is strongly preferred. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care.
