We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong foundation in dental assisting practices. This role involves supporting pediatric dentists in providing high-quality dental care, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a welcoming environment for our young patients. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Once xray certified Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring adherence to safety standards. Manage patient records and medical documentation accurately, utilizing Open Dental Educate patients and their guardians on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Monitor vital signs as necessary during procedures. Perform chairside assisting duties, including passing instruments and materials to the dentist. Maintain an organized inventory of dental supplies and equipment. Answer phones at the front desk with dental receptionist duties when needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries. Experience Candidates should possess the following skills and experience: Proficiency in dental terminology and familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices. Knowledge of general dentistry principles, prosthodontics, endodontics, and anatomy. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, along with knowledge of medical coding and records management.
