Responsibilities include but are not limited to noting and reviewing patient medical history, performing digital x-ray films, charting in Dentrix, full mouth periodontal probing, scaling and root planing, polishing, giving dental hygiene instructions, recording dental disease and treatment diagnosed by dentist, managing dental equipment, and sterilizing and preparing dental instruments.
Part time or full time options available.
M, T, Th 8am-5pm and W 8am-2pm

* Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Prepare a treatment room for the patient
Prepare the patient for dental hygiene treatment
Provide information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests
Maintain instrumentation for dental hygiene treatments
Select materials and equipment for a dental hygiene visit by evaluating the patient’s oral health
Complete dental prophylaxis
Assist in detecting disease by completing oral exams through visual inspection, radiograph interpretation and using a probe to locate periodontal infections
Assist in screening for oral cancer
Expose and develop radiographs
Arrest dental decay by applying fluorides and other cavity-preventing agents
Assist the dentist with dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and seeking continuing education and training
Educate patients by providing oral hygiene and plaque control instructions
Document dental hygiene services and maintain patient health records
Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols
Ensure proper operation of dental equipment
Maintain dental supply inventories
* Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program with a current license to practice
Experience working in a highly-active dental practice
Ability to maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
Focused on providing comprehensive, quality treatment
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Excellent communication skills
Detail-oriented
Fulfill job duties completely and professionally
Organizational skills
Energetic, positive attitude
Maintains focus and professionalism with patients and team members at all times
