This course will begin with a discussion about how does one measure competency for the evaluation and management of TMD and Orofacial Pain (OFP) patients. An examination protocol will be presented to include functional tests to determine the development of an appropriate treatment plan. Specific cases will then be shown to illustrate the diagnosis and treatment concepts presented
Learning Objectives
- Understand the epidemiology of TMD and OFP
- Understand what skills are needed to achieve competency in TMD diagnosis & management the protocol for examination of the TMD and OFP patient
- Understand how functional tests help in development of the treatment plan
- Review the principles of arthralgia, myalgia and neuropathic pain management through case reviews.
