Description

Registered Dental Assistant (RDA)/Administrative Support (Floater) Job Description --- Position Overview: The Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) supports the clinical team in providing high-quality dental care and ensures a safe, efficient, and positive experience for patients. The RDA is responsible for assisting during procedures, maintaining operatory readiness, and adhering to all regulatory requirements for infection control and licensure. --- Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Greet and prepare patients for treatment, ensuring comfort and understanding of procedures. Obtain informed consent after explain what you will be done during the appointment. · Assist the dentist during all dental procedures, including exams, restorations, crowns, oral surgeries, and orthodontic work (if applicable). · Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as permitted by state regulations. Ensure all radiographs and pictures needed for insurance reimbursement are taken prior to doctor coming in. · Perform basic laboratory tasks, such as pouring models and trimming trays. · Sterilize and disinfect instruments and operatories following OSHA and CDC guidelines. Please initial your sterile bags. · Maintain accurate patient records, including charting clinical notes and updating health histories. · Provide post-operative instructions as directed by the dentist. · Ensure operatories are stocked, clean, and prepared for daily procedures. Ensure water spray level is optimal and all handpieces and etc are working prior to doctor coming in. · Monitor inventory and notify the appropriate team member when supplies need to be ordered. · Adhere to all HIPAA, OSHA, and state dental board regulations. · Support front office staff when needed, including scheduling or confirming appointments. · ITERO scanning and Invisalign delivery. · Chart existing dental treatment and create treatment plans · Print route slips for your patients for the day and fill them out completely · Write referrals for specialist care and take appropriate pictures and xrays · TikTok, Facebook and Instagram Post 3-4 times per week. · Creating and planning content, contests and promotions (videos and photo posts) Planning consists of alerting DR/Team if we need to dress up for a holiday or wear matching scrubs for a video or a post. If we need to buy “props”. Please allow a week for transit. · Responding to post comments on all social media platforms: · Responding to English messages in Facebook that have become cold leads to get phone number for · Sending email blasts and social media posts on the promotions · Drafting emails and posts using stock material and a content creation platform(i.e canva) send it out as a text blast. · Direct Mail campaigns: Designing and mailing campaign cards for summer, fall, use or lose it and other promotion periods. · Responding to google reviews: · Ensure schedule is productive and full, as this this is a team. · Making sure schedule is productive and full, a requirement of all team-members. --- Requirements: · High School Diploma or equivalent required · Maintain Current certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) in the state of Texas · Current CPR certification · Radiology certification as required by state law · Maintain current Nitrous Oxide Monitoring Certification (if applicable) --- Core Competencies: · Professional and courteous demeanor with excellent communication skills · Strong attention to detail and time management · Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced clinical setting · Commitment to patient care, safety, and confidentiality · Team player with a proactive and dependable attitude --- Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: · Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands · Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs · Exposure to bodily fluids, bloodborne pathogens, and chemical agents · Work duties assigned can changed at any time by Practice Director/Management depending on staffing and office needs. --- This job description outlines key expectations for the Registered Dental Assistant role and is subject to change based on the evolving needs of the practice.
